Project highlight | Solar panels & compact mast
When this distribution centre prepared its roof for solar panels, space for lightning protection quickly became limited. Without addressing this early on, conflicts between solar panels and lightning protection systems can easily arise.
DKW supplied compact mast systems with a footprint of just 66 x 66 cm, specifically designed for situations where space is limited, making them ideal for roofs with solar panels or a limited distance to the roof edge. Combined with the required height and wind resistance, this resulted in a unique, project-specific installation.
This project called for a forward-thinking approach, designing the lightning protection system with future rooftop use in mind. In close cooperation with Jules Goossens, we created a solution that ensures full independence of the lightning protection system, while also supporting the building's BREEAM certification.
